Internet

The venue’s IT department is the exclusive provider for internet throughout the facility. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the facility and is intended to supply web access for casual browsing. Hard-wired connections can be provided in all meeting rooms, exhibit halls, and public spaces. Any internet need beyond free Wi-Fi will need to be purchased. Please inform your Event Manager if you have any internet needs.

Service Methods – There are two methods for providing networking services. 

  1. Wi-Fi: 2.4 and 5.0 ghz are supported. 

  1. Wired: Huntington Place provides a network cord and port. 

NOTE: (DHCP is automatically provided unless a public static IP is requested) 

Networking Service Types 

There are four different service types to choose from. 

  1. Dedicated: This service is a private network that only you can access and has no blocks on anything, meaning all network traffic gets through. Wi-Fi option available with this service. SSID and Password will be required.  

  1. Dark/Dry: This service is private as well but you or your team will manage it instead of our in-house team. 

  1. Shared: This service is NOT private. It allows only one device per drop and shares your bandwidth with whomever else has purchased the shared service for that day. No Wi-Fi option is available with this service.  Additional drops are not available with this service.  

  1. Streaming: This is a private network, but EVERYTHING (all network traffic) is blocked except for streaming services (no email, chatting, browsing, etc.).

Huntington Place is pleased to continue offering exclusive Stagehand (IATSE Local 38) labor to our valued clients. Assistance with initial labor ordering, active on-site labor management and prompt invoicing are a few of the services offered. 


1. Stagehand holidays are Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day and Labor Day. Holidays are paid at the premium rate of pay for all hours worked on these days. Reference “Overtime, Premium & Holiday Pay” in the Labor Services Manual for additional details.


2. All drape layout plans for meeting rooms, exhibit halls, ballrooms, etc. are to be emailed to laborservices@huntingtonplacedetroit.com prior to final labor order to prevent jurisdictional issues.


3. All lifts and equipment required for Stagehand use would be obtained from others. No diesel or gas lifts are allowed in the facility, electric lifts only. Vendors that can assist with equipment, teamster, and carpentry labor estimates:

To guarantee labor for events, orders are to be placed a minimum of ten (10) business days (Mon – Fri excluding holidays) between 9AM-5PM prior to the requested start date.
