Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority Names Lisa Canada Board Chair

DETROIT – December 6, 2021 The Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority (DRCFA) is pleased to announce Lisa Canada as Chair of its Board of Directors. Canada is the Political and Legislative Director for the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights, one of the most active and influential labor organizations in the State of Michigan. Canada has served on the DRCFA Board since 2015, appointed by Wayne County Executive Warren Evans, and serves as the Chair of the DRCFA Art Foundation.

Canada has over 25 years of experience working with organized labor, politics and government affairs. In addition to her leadership with the DRCFA, she is on the Executive Board of Labor’s International Hall of Fame and the Michigan Labor History Society.

On 9/15/09, operational control of TCF Center transferred to the Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority, under a collaborative agreement by the Michigan State Legislature, the City of Detroit, and Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. Each of these entities, as well as an appointee of the Governor of the State of Michigan, has an appointed member on the DRCFA Board. Lisa Canada serves as Chair of the Board.
